Lazise parking – where to park your car?

Lazise

Lazise is a beautiful medieval walled town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, in the Veneto region. It is known for its castle, its small harbour and its historic center, and it is also close to Gardaland, so it is no wonder that so many tourists visit it every year. Lazise is a popular destination for day trips, which is why finding a parking space can be a challenge in the high season.

From March to November, most of the parking areas in Lazise are paid. If you are visiting out of the season, you will easily find a spot. However, in the summer months, especially on weekends, the parking lots closest to the center fill up quickly. Cars are not allowed inside the old town walls, so all visitors have to leave their vehicle in one of the lots outside the walls and walk the rest of the way.

If you don’t mind walking a few minutes, you will find a parking space even in high season. The paid parking lots are perfect for whole-day stays, and they are all located just outside the old town walls. Here are the main paid parking lots in Lazise:

This is the largest parking lot in Lazise, with 474 parking spaces, and it is located right in front of the town’s entrance. It is open 24 hours a day. The lot has a barrier at the entrance and you pay when you leave, so you don’t have to guess how long you will stay. Parking meters also exist, but they work only in some periods of the year.

The rate is 2 euros per hour. Because of its size, this is the best bet for those who arrive late in the morning, when smaller lots are already full. Keep in mind that public parking lots in Lazise can have height barriers, so if you travel with a camper or a tall van, check the access in advance.

This is a public parking lot with 85 spaces for cars and a few for motorcycles, located right next to the old town. The rate is 1.50 euros per hour, and you can pay at the machine by card or with the EasyPark app. The biggest advantage of this lot is its location, since you can reach the center in about 5 minutes on foot. The downside is that it is small, so it fills up very quickly in summer. If you arrive around midday in July or August, expect to wait or to look for another lot.

This is a smaller public parking lot with 102 parking spaces. Parking is regulated by parking meters, and the rate is 1.50 euros per hour, the same as at San Martino. It is a good alternative when the lots closer to the entrance are full, and it is usually less crowded.

This is a private paid parking lot near the Despar supermarket. It is a good choice for short stops, because the rates are clearly structured by time:

up to 30 minutes: 1 euro
up to 1 hour: 1.50 euros
up to 2 hours: 3 euros
each additional hour after the second: 2 euros

Because the price per hour goes up after two hours, this lot is not the best option for a full day in town. For longer stays, Parcheggio Marra is cheaper.

Tourist buses and groups have a dedicated parking area at Via Parco del Garda, from where the walls are easy to reach on foot. Keep in mind that there are no long-stay parking areas for buses in Lazise. The closest ones are in Peschiera del Garda and in Bardolino.

Finding free parking close to the center of Lazise is difficult, especially during the summer months and on national holidays. Most of the parking areas around the walls are paid from March to November, so the real chance for free parking is outside the high season.

The most practical alternative is to park a bit further from the center, in residential streets where white lines mark free spaces (blue lines are paid), and walk the rest of the way. Also, there are small free parking areas in front of supermarkets, but they are exclusively for customers and often have a time limit, so they are not a solution for a full day in town. It is also good to know that the Lazise market is held every Wednesday morning, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and on that day the lots around the center fill up much earlier than usual.

EasyPark is widely used in Lake Garda towns, and you can use it to pay for and extend your parking time from your smartphone. In the high season, arrive before 10:00 AM if you want to park close to the walls, and remember to keep your parking ticket until you leave the barrier lots.
